Built by the people who do the science.
LabTools is made by Filliaux Industries, a small company run by Shaun Filliaux, PhD in biophysics, with postdoctoral research in atomic force microscopy and single-molecule biophysics and several years in the pharmaceutical industry. The tools exist because they were needed in that research and did not exist.
Two divisions
- LabTools: the research infrastructure, plot to figure to manuscript. Free for academic and individual use.
- Data Analysis: quantitative AFM image analysis as a service, at data.filliaux.com.

Every figure references the dataset that produced it, and every number traces back to the file it came from.
